Being a new mom is tough. With that comes a lot of unforeseen responsibilities (that I feel no one can prepare for - no matter who you are) + a whole ton of constant worry. My mom always said to me "you'll understand one day why I worry so much when you have your own." Well, mom, you were right.

This day + age I am so thankful for the technology we have at hand. Not only the medical side of things but also the ton of baby products out there that I am sure all of our parents would of given their left arm to have. Every parent though has their own wishes on how they want to raise their child + I respect that tremendously. With that being said, I was very addiment about a "no electronic / technology" approach to raising our first, Rush. I did this because I didn't want my child to rely on technology for comfort. I bought no electronic toys or soothing mechanisms. Everything was all natural soothing, wood toys + natural movement, etc. So - no vibrating / moving swings, crazy play mats, baby mobile - nothing. Most everyone I shared this with thought I was crazy, but if he wasn't introduced to it, he wouldn't miss it - right? So far, it's been great + we have followed through with it.

But, here I am being a hypocrite + relying on the most important thing in my life right now, technology. Also known as, The Owlet. If I had to list one of my biggest fears, in my top five would be the fear of SIDS as a mommy. Before I was even pregnant I would think about this constantly.

I couldn't let my future child sleep in my room forever, would I sleep in there? What bad habits would I be creating then? Should I get up every hour + check in? The endless questions ran through my brain often + then daily when I found out we were expecting.

Then all my questions were answered when I came across The Owlet. It's an adorable little sock that fits perfectly + comfortably on your little ones foot. It monitors your baby's heart rate + oxygen levels while they sleep. You can easily connect + monitor it from your smart phone or its bluetooth technology is designed to alert you from the home base station. So, if you don't have wifi or if your service is down (which has happened to me) I have that as a back up, always. The comfort this has brought to our home is unexplainable. We were able to all sleep comfortable without the fear of worry. It allowed me to have the perfect amount of time with our little one in our room when we first arrived home + then introduce him to his crib at 8 -10 weeks, where he has been sleeping since.
